The Diocesan Youth Advisory Council is a diverse group of teens from across our diocese selected to be the voice of the Young Church to the Bishop, to make the needs of youth known to him and to our youth ministers, and to form leaders as missionary disciples to their peers, families, and parishes.

Responsibilities:Â
- Attend monthly formation meetings and annual retreat (mainly weeknights; locations across the diocese).
- Launch an apostolate project of your choice.
- Inform the diocese on youth culture and needs.Â
- Provide support for Diocesan Youth Ministry events.Â
- Remain active as a missionary disciple, leader, and role model within the parish.Â
 Eligibility:
- Active, practicing, CatholicÂ
- Confirmed or preparing for ConfirmationÂ
- Currently in 10th or 11th grade
- A role model to peers
Time Commitment:Â
- One year - April - May
- Attend monthly formation meetings and annual retreat
- Complete apostolate project
- Attend Mass every weekend
- Receive Reconciliation once a monthÂ
- Remain active in ministry at your parishÂ
- Participate in diocesan events including CLE 21:6
- Limited to one term

Note: We receive many applications, and not all will be chosen to be on the Youth Council. We encourage you to remain active in your parish youth ministry and/or high school campus ministry!
RECOMMENDATION FORM
Teens must have two completed recommendation forms:
- One from your youth minister, campus minister, priest, deacon, or parish staff member.
- One additional recommendation from any of the above or a coach, teacher, youth ministry volunteer/core member, employer, scouting leader or adult that observes you in a leadership position (not your mom’s best friend).
