Monday of the Second Week of Lent – March 2, 2026

Jesus warns us about the danger of judging others.

We can—and sometimes must—judge actions as sinful or situations as unjust. But to judge what is in a person’s heart, to judge their relationship with God, belongs to God alone. That is why Jesus tells us,β€―“Stop condemning and you will not be condemned.”

Correcting wrongs and naming evil is not sinful; in fact, it can be necessary. But we must never declare a person to be evil. As Jesus reminds us,β€―“For the measure with which you measure will in return be measured out to you.”

Instead, Jesus calls us to generosity in our relationships.β€―“Give, and gifts will be given to you.”

So, we should ask ourselves: How large is the measure of our compassion? Is it large enough for God to use for us when we ask for his mercy?β€―
