Bishop Extends Call to Worship

Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in downtown Cleveland hosted the annual Interfaith Thanksgiving Service on Tuesday afternoon, November 26th.

Participants included the host, Rt. Rev. Mark Hollingsworth, Jr. of the Episcopal Diocese of Ohio; Rabbi Stephen Weiss, Senior Rabbi of B'nai Jeshurun Congregation; The Rev. Dr. Kenneth Chalker of the University Circle United Methodist Church; The Very Rev. Tracey Lind, Dean, of Trinity Cathedral; and the homilist, Reverend Christine Smith, Senior Pastor at the Covenant Baptist Church.

In her Sermon, the Reverend Smith cited Psalm 46: "That God is our refuge and our strength." She noted that gratitude comes between tragedy and triumph, particularly applicable in this day of so many tragic events.

The service concluded with Bishop Lennon joining in the Litany of Thanksgiving and the singing of the hymn "Praise to the Lord, the Almighty."
