Statement from the Diocese of Cleveland upon the Federal court sentencing of Anton Zgoznik

Today, (Tuesday, September 22, 2009) Anton Zgoznik, former independent contractor working for the diocesan finance office was sentenced to one year and one day in prison in Cleveland's federal court by the Honorable Judge Ann Aldrich.

In October 2007, Zgoznik was found guilty of conspiracy to commit mail fraud, mail fraud, conspiracy to defraud the IRS, corruptly trying to obstruct, aiding preparation of a false document and aiding preparation of a false tax return.
