St. John Vianney pastor is messenger of hope

The Reverend Thomas Johns of St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Mentor isn't supposed to be here with us today.

The 57-year-old is a two-time cancer survivor and was told after his battle with Stage IV lung cancer in 2001 that 95 percent of people with that illness die within five years.

He had part of his lung removed and went through radiation for months before being completely cured, he said.
