St. Cecilia Institute for Pastoral Musicians

The St. Cecilia Institute for Pastoral Musicians of the Diocese of Cleveland will offer a summer program on August 5 and 6, 2024 as part of the Mary, Mother of the Good Shepherd Academy. A registration link is available below.

Schedule of Events:

Monday, August 5
Check-in from 3 p.m. until 4 p.m.
Keynote address by Fr. James Chepponis on Musicians as Missionary Disciples.
Sung Vespers, dinner, and a social follow.

Tuesday, August 6
Check-in from 8 a.m. until 9 a.m., followed by sung Lauds.
Morning and afternoon break-out sessions:

• The Church’s Liturgy Documents
• Planning the Liturgy of the Hours
• Gregorian Chant
• Preparing School Liturgies
• Praise and Worship Repertoire

Morning and afternoon masterclasses:

• Organ (including organ for pianists)
• Ensemble (incorporating multiple instruments, praise and worship music, and more)
• Choir (including conducting and rehearsal technique)

4 p.m. - Keynote address by Bishop M. Woost
6 p.m - Dinner
7:30 p.m. - Mass with Bishop Woost serving as principal celebrant and homilist.

The day concludes with a social.
